As Joshua stood before the towering walls of Jericho, the magnitude of the challenge must have felt overwhelming. We can relate to that sense of uncertainty and trepidation when confronted with obstacles in our own lives - problems that loom before us, seemingly impossible to overcome.
This story reminds us that we too are called to confront the divine presence with reverence and openness. When we face our own "Jerichos" - the daunting challenges and insurmountable obstacles in our lives - we must be willing to let go of our assumptions and agendas, and instead submit to God's sovereign plan. Think about the story of the cross. It makes no sense – until it does!
