The Leper's Request - Pastor David - 9 March 2025
In the journey of faith, the New Testament reveals its truths subtly, yet powerfully. The five pillars of Christianity—Prayer, Witness, Fellowship, Word, and Praise—are not always named but are almost always present, woven into the fabric of Scripture. They flow naturally from the text. We discover them as we engage with the life of Jesus, the witness of His disciples, and the growth of the early church. The mystery lies in how these pillars emerge without explanation.
When we read Scripture with a discerning eye, the words draws us deeper into what were are called to focus on at that moment. Through parables, miracles, teachings, and gatherings, the pillars are revealed—not as separate ideas but as intertwined realities that shape the foundation of faith. As you read the text, use it as an opportunity to see these truths reflected, calling us to engage with both the text and the God who speaks through it.
Scripture does not explain the pillars; it reveals them. And as we walk through its pages, we are invited to uncover these truths in our own lives, trusting that God is continually at work, weaving His story into ours.
