Pastor David - Then Sings My Soul - January 12 2025
Some of us cannot carry a tune in a bucket—as the old joke goes—but our souls can sing. This beautiful metaphor reminds us that joy and gratitude can dwell within us, regardless of our stage in life.
A soul that sings reflects a heart alive with appreciation for life’s beauty and the divine love that surrounds us. Even during trials and tribulation, our souls can rise and sing. But what about in the challenging times?
Yes, even then! God gives us a choice. We can express our resilience and faith, or we can consciously choose to become absorbed in our misery (and it loves company). We are called to sing through hardship, proclaiming that hope and joy still exist. A soul that sings carries the light of Christ within, becoming an nurturing source of inspiration to others. Yet, many of us struggle with finding our singing souls, especially when bad things seem to keep happening all around us.
To nourish the song within us, we must seek fellowship with others. Surrounding ourselves with a supportive community creates a space for sharing our struggles and joys. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Engaging in worship together strengthens our bonds and reminds us that we are not alone. As we uplift one another, our collective voices rise in harmony, even amid life’s challenges.
