Faith and Persistence - October 13 2024
Have you ever taken your child to the doctor, but the doctor seems distracted or dismissive. In that moment, it’s easy to feel frustrated and unheard. Yet, as a parent, your determination kicks in. You know that if the doctor truly listened, they could uncover the issue and provide the care your child desperately needs. You believe that with a little more attention, the right diagnosis could emerge. So, you calmly reiterate your concerns, ask questions, and push for answers. Your confidence that help is possible drives you to advocate for your child, even in the face of resistance.
This experience highlights the importance of persistence in our lives. We often encounter situations where we feel overlooked, yet it’s our unwavering belief in the potential for understanding and help that compels us to keep advocating.
Much like the Phoenician woman who approached Jesus with steadfast determination, we can learn that persistence is not just about repeating requests. It’s about fostering a belief that those we seek help from can indeed make a difference. By remaining resolute, we encourage others to listen more closely and respond to our needs.
