Pastor David - Intercessory Love December 22 2024
On the Fourth Sunday of Advent, we focus on the theme of love. It’s time to reflect on how God’s love is active in our lives and our world. God’s love is personal and transformative, engaging with us in our everyday struggles and triumphs. We may encounter unexpected guidance or experience miraculous changes that shift our circumstances, reminding us of God’s intervention in our lives.
In our scripture today, we see that love is not merely an emotion but an active force that compels us to action. The Magnificat (Mary’s Song) celebrates this transformative love, reminding us of our call to serve and uplift others. As the year comes to a close, we can reflect on those times we have been called to embody this love through various initiatives. But we do these things with a quiet intention.
We’ve collected coats for those facing the cold, offering warmth and comfort. We provide meals to shut-ins and those in need, ensuring no one feels forgotten. We support Care Share by providing essential food supplies, and this year, we lifted our voices in song, sharing joy and hope with our community in a meaningful way. As we embrace this call to action, let us all remember:
“We love because He first loved us” - 1 John 4:19
