Back in antiquity, the existence of demons was widely acknowledged. Across cultures and Scripture, these malevolent forces were understood as real, active agents of chaos, preying on the vulnerable and opposing all that is good. In passages like Luke 4, Jesus confronts a demon directly, silencing it with His power and demonstrating His authority over darkness.
Today, our culture continues to reflect their presence through books and movies but often trivializes the reality of evil. Yet the same powers that tormented the ancients remain active, subtly influencing minds, lives, and societies. Without faith, many are left defenseless, unaware of the true nature of the spiritual battle they face.
The ancients knew evil was not merely psychological or symbolic—it was personal and deeply spiritual. But they also knew that such forces are no match for Christ. His power and authority, shown clearly in Scripture, remind us that we are not left to face these forces alone.
Through faith in Jesus, we find the strength, protection, and guidance to resist the darkness and navigate the evil that still surrounds us.
