Coldspring Methodist Church - Your Sunday Sanctuary
As December draws to a close, we can all agree that we worked hard to celebrate the profound significance of the Christmas season. But we sometimes forget that we are still in the Christmastide season. This time of year invites us to not only rejoice in the birth of Jesus Christ, but also reminds us that our journey continues beyond this celebration.
In this final week of the year, we reflect on the story of Simeon, who recognized baby Jesus as the fulfillment of God's promise. Just as the firstborn in Jewish tradition is dedicated to the Lord, we, reborn in Christ, are called to live out our faith with purpose and intention.
Most of you are anticipating New Year's Eve – and yet another celebration. Let’s use this morning in the worship to pause and reflect on how we can embody Christ’s love in our lives. What steps can we take to carry His message into the new year? Can we remain awake to the wonders of His presence and actively share His love with the world? What new years resolution (a covenant) do you pledge to the lord for next year?
As a church in connection with our Coldspring community, we anticipate exciting opportunities to reflect Christ’s light through outreach and compassion. As we celebrate the arrival of a new year, let’s remember: the story of Jesus continues, and our role in it is just beginning.
