Advent 2024 - Day 14
Day 14: Saturday, December 14, 2024
Primary Scripture: Luke 3:1-6
Supporting Scriptures: Philippians 1:3-6; Hebrews 10:24-25
One of the strong points I have been emphasizing since I arrived at Coldspring Methodist is the importance of serving the community - not just one another. As we journey through Advent, we are also reminded of the importance of community. Hebrews 10:24-25 urges us to encourage one another and to spur each other on toward love and good deeds. Preparing for Christ’s coming is not something we do alone—it is something we do together as His body.
Philippians 1:3-6 encourages us with the promise that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” God is not finished with us—He is continually refining, shaping, and preparing us for His kingdom.
Are you actively participating in the community of faith? Are you encouraging others and allowing them to encourage you? This Advent, let us commit to walking alongside one another as we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ.
Let's Pray:
Lord, thank You for the promise that You are at work in us, preparing us for Your kingdom. Help us to encourage one another and to walk together as a community of faith. May we grow in love and good deeds as we wait for Your return.
Amen.
