Advent 2024 - Day 3
Day 3: Tuesday, December 3, 2024
Primary Scripture: Luke 21:27
Associated Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Matthew 24:30-31
I love picking up grandkids from the airport. A few years ago I was able to surprise them and meet them at there arrival gate as I hand just arrived earlier at another gate. The pure joy on their faces as they screamed Grandpa and ran towards me.. Ok - the joy on my face! I was beaming.
The joy of reuniting with a loved one after a long separation can be overwhelming. In Luke 21:27, Jesus speaks of His glorious return, a moment when every eye will behold Him. This promise evokes awe and anticipation, reminding us that our faith is not in vain. Christ's second coming is the culmination of our hope, bringing fulfillment to God’s promises. This imagery encourages us to prepare our hearts for that glorious day.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 reassures us that when Christ returns, the dead in Christ will rise first, and we will be gathered together with Him. This gathering emphasizes the community we share as believers, united in hope. Matthew 24:30-31 further affirms this promise, portraying the gathering of the faithful from all corners of the earth.
As we reflect on these scriptures, imagine how you can live your life each day in joyful expectation, sharing the hope of Christ’s return with others. Our lives should testify to the love and grace of God, reminding everyone that He is coming again. At CMC we don't have trouble shining the light of Christ we have within.... let's make it even brighter
Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, fill our hearts with anticipation for the day of Your return. May we live in joyful expectation and encourage others with the hope we have in You. Amen.
